High Country CrystallizationThis one was a major undertaking! Definitely one of the most complicated laser works I've tackled. In the end it far surpassed my expectations, and I'm super stoked on how they turned out! My vision with this piece was to print the entire image on 3 different species of wood, alder, walnut, and blue pine cut them up into segments then mix and match, and re assemble them like a puzzle. This way we end up with three different versions of the same piece

I believe we can tear down the walls between us and remove our masks

I wanted to give the black stripes of the zebra more detail and depth

I feel the legend of the phoenix ties in well with the spirit of the electric forest

It’s a magical and often surreal environment where the vision of a psychedelic jackalope with a third eye jumping out of the bushes is not that far-fetched :)

and I feel the spirit of the red-tailed hawk really supported me through the process

The blue sections are glow-in-the-dark
