Copper pseudomorph after Azurite ("Copper Rose") with Malachite
Description
Copper pseudomorph after Azurite ("Copper Rose") with MalachiteA lovely complete "floater" "Copper Rose" specimen featuring fine, sharp, bladed crystals of what were once Azurite and later replaced by Native Copper. The piece is pristine and beautiful from several angles. The surface of the specimen has a slight overgrowth of attractive green Malachite, which is formed by the Copper oxidizing. A charming thumbnail specimen of these beloved pseudomorphs from New Mexico. These specimens are some of my favorite
Good gem Topaz crystals from this locality are few and far between
0 cm on edge and is associated with a few smaller Pyrite cubes and beautiful blue-green Fluorite on "sericite" matrix
Specimen # SPINELBUR5102
Specimen # TUC31715
Specimen # BOL711B171
crystallized specimen of the triclinic lead
Hand sized Demantoid specimens from Sferlun are certainly uncommon
white to off-white color Hopeite crystals which vary in habit from slender “blades” to slightly blocky orthorhombic crystals
and we would hope to see more of these great Pyrites along with other noteworthy minerals from Climax to make their way back on the market
the crystal shows a mix of whitish-pink and strong red fluorescence
but what really makes the piece special is the fact that NONE of the crystals are repaired
Very fairly priced for the size
