Escarpment Kiwa Pinot NoirABV 13. 5% The vines for Kiwa are 30+ years old and always result in a complex, savoury and spicy wine. Aged for 18 months in 40% new French oak this has rich flavours of red cherries, red plums and sweet spices. Already delicious this will develop further, if you can resist it, for up to 10 years.
Sauvignon Blanc is made from 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon
maceration was up to four weeks
but the Cabernets impart some lovely graphite notes on the saline finish
this is a precise but somewhat more generous
There is a more ethereal quality to them
Ruinart is the oldest producer of Champagne in France
Juicy acidity and silky texture punctuate the wine’s refreshing finish
there is also a complexity and texture which is rarely found at this price
it is now owned by LMVH who bought it in 1999
