It is black papier mache with stunning hand painted decoration to the top and sides of cornflowers and wheat sheafs in blue and gold

It is a nice larger piece at 2 inches and is a lovely piece with signs of wear and authentic to the period

The opening doesn't snap shut and does remain closed and there is minor wear to the wood and veneer in places

It is in sparkling and almost pristine condition and a beautiful gift
