Antique Tape Measure with Cat DetailThis is a beautiful tape measure likely from the Edwardian period. It is housed in a metal case and pulls out on a 40 inch 100 cm 1m tape. The tape is in good condition with small side splits in places but nicely functional with care. The top of the case has a lovely little cat's head with sparkling green eyes as shown. This kind of decoration was very popular in the Edwardian era and is very charming. It measures just over 1 inch across. As a vintage

The box has original  brass flower and bird appliques over the sides and on the lid

It is made of mother of pearl and banded round the edge in brass with a good brass hinge

It is in the shape of a frog with lots of character and detail and likely to date to 1930s-1950s

It has a very old c clasp to the rear as shown and has a beautiful RD number which dates it exactly to the day in 1880

minor loss to the fur and wear commensurate with age

The interior is beautifully bright with mirrored metal interior and a good cavity for all kinds of uses
