This somberly beautiful Victorian memorial print is an unusual size & shape: It is reminiscent of the black & gold mourning cabinet cards that were popular during the last quarter of the 19th century

& they made other molded relief stoneware in a similar style with similar glazes

Bound in green cloth boards with an illustration of an imprisoned girl on the cover

large and silver plated

They have become increasingly difficult to acquire over the last several years

Some fading to the black dye from age

Shown on a size 10 mannequin with a jet necklace from my collection that is not for sale
