Beaded Bamun Shield 02
Description
Beaded Bamun Shield 02These shields are hand carved from one piece of indigenous wood and hand finished with beads, cowrie shells and Manilla string. Their design was inspired by the defensive shields once used by the hunters and warriors of the Tikar tribe of Cameroon, but they are now designed as ritual objects to symbolise status and wealth.
