Victorian Bird Trade Card | Meadow PiperPerhaps I inherited this fondness from my grandmother, or maybe its because Im an air sign stellium, but I adore birds. Thus, I was thrilled to find a small lot of these wonderful Victorian cards, three of which are available in separate listings. The illustrations are printed on beautifully embossed paper that remind me of my favorite Victorian valentines. A colorful description of the bird is on the reverse. This particular card depicts a meadow

It’s from an 1862 issue of Punch and depicts two skeletons in extravagant evening dress
