Karamojong Container 06This container is hand carved from indigenous wood by the Karamajong people of Uganda who are livestock farmers. Due to the arid climate in which they live, every 3 to 4 months the Karamajong people will move their cattle in search of water and pasture and they are skilled in creating functional pieces that are easy to transport from materials readily found in their harsh desert environment. The design of the jugs have been developed over the years
